Objectives
1. Raising awareness: to understand an application of GBA Plus within member organizations and the public about gender equality issues.
2. Sharing knowledge: to share promising practices, tools, and resources for integrating a gender and intersectionality lens.
3. Collaboration: to collaborate on projects, community needs assessment, identify systemic barriers and explore collaborative solutions.
4. Intersectionality: to address the intersection of gender with other social identities, such as race, class, and sexual orientation.
Membership
Who can become a VLIP Gender Network member?
Membership in the Gender-Based Network is open to designated representatives from Vancouver-based sectors who are working and committed to advancing gender equality. Members are expected to:
1. Bring experience, expertise in gender-based issues.
2. Be open to learning and applying a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) lens in their work
3. Have experience working within collaborative/cross-sectoral/ intersectional frameworks.
4. Maintain a non-partisan approach in all network-related discussions and decision-making.
