Koyali Burman
VLIP MANAGERKoyali Burman has a decade of experience working in the immigration and integration sector. Her area of interest includes migration, global diplomacy & governance, gender, and economic development. She has spoken about migration at various platforms and universities in Canada, US, and India. Recently she has been honoured with the United Nations Fellowship.
She is a strategic collaborator and has experience in stakeholder management across sectors. Currently, she is the Co-Manager of the Vancouver Local Immigration Partnership. She holds a Master's in Higher Education from the University of British Columbia and a Leadership & Management Diploma. She holds various leadership positions on the board locally and internationally. She is an experienced evaluator & strategist who evaluated diverse programs using gender and equity lenses to develop gender-sensitive and economic development strategies for organizations/ institutions in Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
Rasha Kossad
Technology/Communication SpecialistRasha brings a unique blend of creative and technical expertise to her role as a technology and communication specialist. With a solid background in photography, video editing, videography, voice-over work, and extensive proficiency in Photoshop, she recently acquired certifications in CSS, HTML, and data analysis to further her technical skills. Over seven years, Rasha has excelled in administrative functions including scheduling, meeting coordination, and delivering exceptional customer service. Passionate about leveraging technology for business growth, she thrives in collaborative environments, driving strategic initiatives that optimize workflows and elevate technological and communication strategies.
Fiorella Rabuffetti
Intern, Learning & DevelopmentFiorella is a social researcher currently completing her PhD in Political Science at the University of Ottawa. She works on issues of migration, human rights, and gender equity. In addition to her current internship with VLIP, she is a program associate with Community Mobilization in Crisis, a University of Ottawa project that develops open educational and training programs for and with displaced, refugee, and marginalized youths in emergency contexts, and where she contributes to monitoring and evaluation, grant writing, and knowledge mobilization. She is also a volunteer research analyst with the Canadian Centre for Women’s Empowerment. Previously, she was the coordinator of the Scholars at Risk in the Americas project, hosted by the University of Ottawa in partnership with the global network Scholars at Risk. She has an MA in Political Science from the University of Alberta, an honours BA in Political Science from the University of the Republic in Uruguay, where she is from, and a Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization from the University of Guelph.
